Um... Fellow Melbournites?
Jan. 31st, 2013 04:42 pmWhen the Bureau's pic has a storm front with a Black Edge heading right for you, that's bad, isn't it?

Brace yourselves, kids. It's going to be a bit rough.

Date: 2013-01-31 06:59 am (UTC)It just kicked up here a little while ago. FB status from someone in Ballarat is along the lines of "runforyourliiiiiiives!eleven".

Date: 2013-01-31 10:48 am (UTC)Around here, the lighter rain is usually in shades of green. Shades of blue are used for SNOW. Pinks for mixed precip. Yellow, Orange and shades of Red into Violet for thunderstorms.
So, if that was our local radar up here in the Maine Wilderness, there would be much freaking 'cause it would be a line of snow squalls with embedded thundersnow, probably threatening to dump 2 or 3 inches in of snow in as little as 15 minutes--very rare event. :)
