reynardoJust had an old friend find me on Facebutt after 20 years. He had to search by my maiden name, and stumbled across my LJ. So, just as I was planning to go to bed, I ended up having an online chat with him for over an hour - and we're catching up for coffee next week.
But then later, I thought about what he said, and did some searching, and discovered that one of my very earliest LJ entries was a meme about who I am and where I come from. And in which I had disclosed, in an open entry, pretty much all you'd need to steal my identity.
Luckily, it hasn't happened yet. And I've now locked that entry away.
But oh dear, that could have been nasty.
Mind you, the old friend's re-emergence has been well timed. He was in one of my very earliest D&D groups, and next Saturday will be meeting people in my current one. We're talking 25 years of killing orcs here, kids.
