Oct. 28th, 2013 07:02 pmYou know how some people found it funny to start rumours of "OMG X IS DEAD!" and see how many people were taken in by it?
It seems the newest form of trolling is, when reports come in of someone's death, to start yelling "NO, IT'S A FAKE! THEY'RE NOT DEAD AT ALL!"
Idiots.

Date: 2013-10-28 08:34 am (UTC)Did you see the story in the news about the person that put a picture of a three year old up on a Queensland sale page on Facebook, with the heading For Sale, hardly used sex puppet?
This was posted a few minutes after the mother of the child in question had posted a complaint about another picture put up by the same person of a child posed on a stripper pole.
The girl's mother is frantic and the police say they can't trace the person who did it. I must admit, I'm a bit skeptical as to why they can't - they say it's because the person swiped their profile image from someone else, but if the guys on catfish can track people down that do this, I'm sure there must be ways, even if they use some kind of obfuscation.
I don't know what the mother's security settings were, but I assume they stole the picture from her page, which is one of the reasons I never posted any pics of my son on the net when he was little.
Now, being a Facebook fiend like most teens (he's 17) he has hundreds floating around.
