Sort-of back

Had a lovely holiday, but the computer I took, nicknamed "Dinky", has the processing power of a frozen zucchini. I was looking forward to getting back to my lovely big machine...

... and it wouldn't start.

So it's finally back from the computer menders, but all my lovely bookmarks are GONE! *sobs* Yes, I know, should have backed up. Of all people I should have realised that. Dammit.

There's no way in hell I'm going to catch up with March, April and May, so I'll assume nothing happened, and try and hug you all in the next couple of weeks, one way or another.

Ouch. Yeah, my laptop's "fried", likely the video card. Since it's AMD, I've been told if it's one of the models with deeper video card/hard disk (or was it motherboard?) integration, then even in that case I've still truly lost all the data. Fortunately, I have a USB stick for manuscripts, I email things to myself as backups if it's just text files, and then there's this neglected PC tower in the parentals' basement, that I suspect is happy to have me stare at its widescreen monitor once again.

Great to see you back all safe and sound and that the PC is back up and running again. I can imagine that a few choice words were heard when you couldn't fire it up after all of that time with Dinky, the frozen zucchini!
