reynardo | Interview: Panacea

1) Do you garden, and if so, what do you plan to grow next planting season?

Not as much as I'd like to. I plan pumpkin and potatoes (actually, the spuds just happen) and perhaps some legumes. What'll probably happen is procrastination.

2) Which do you think is harder, knitting or crochet?

Crochet. I can knit rather well if I may say so myself, and usually have about 5 projects on hand. I just can't get my head around crochet - probably could if I tried... The last time I tried the result was "So what do you do with a 5-sided triangle anyway?"

3) Where did Adam get the nickname "Ratboy" anyway?

Warning - non-PC bit. My brother got nicknamed Rastus by a family friend, which then got extended to "Rastus Watermelon" after an episode of the Goodies where Bill became a Black Muslim. Adam had a few nicknames when little ("Nematode" being one, an extension from "toad" which is what a baby's face looks like when you support them by the jowls to allow them to burp without chucking).

Anyway, the general style continued and Ratboy came into being. About 6 months after it had become fixed, the name cropped up on a "Simpsons" episode. Nowadays he prefers being known as "The Rat".

4) You're in school, right? What are you studying and how long until you finish your degree, certificate, etc?

Mechatronic Engineering, with 3-4 years to go until I finish. It's a 4 year full-time course but I've been part-time for ages.

5) Favorite color for - sexy "play-clothes"? Black and lacy.

respectable hide-from-the-normos clothes? (Careful - my brothers' school, Normanhurst Boys, was known as "Normo") Plain colours, not pink or orange or those that clash with red hair. I tend not to wear patterns.

decorating a bathroom? Mint green, if I ever get around to it.

found in nature? The deep azure of a copper-contaminated Welsh mountain lake. The deep deep purple of an Iris. The steel-blue-and-pearl-and-grey of a winter sunset. (That I want on a sweater one day). The amazing orange-red and green of the local King Parrots. The deep blue-black of a male Bowerbird. Am I limited?

nail polish, on you or anyone else? On the right occasions, follow-me-home red. Otherwise, something that matches what you're wearing. I tend not to wear nail polish, and makeup only on very rare occasions. I have eye-shadow from 1986 still, and now the paintbox look is back in fashion!
