It's not so much the facts
Jul. 24th, 2001 12:23 amIt hasn't helped having a journalist for a father - he's one of the few with ethics. (He's also not a million-dollars per story type person, which shows.)
However, the television news tonight (Channel 9 - Packer territory) reported how the "Organiser behind last year's violence at the S11 protest has promised the same in Brisbane for Chogm".
Considering reports from first-hand accounts who stated that the little violence there was was started by the police, and that the majority of the protests were peaceful, it's amazing how the media can twist the details and pick the pictures they want shown.
Tim Robbins, in the commmentary for "Bob Roberts", commented on exactly the same point about the protests in the USA.
I suppose Packer, being a Big Business man himself, was able to allow a completely non-biased report of the S11 conference.
(I dream too much)
