Lovely way to end the evening...
Jan. 26th, 2004 10:39 pmThe game went well (except that they killed my dragon ,the beasts!) and Rattus behaved at least and was reasonable and has also dragged out the info for Wednesday (first day at high school).
And now we're watching Ladyhawke on DVD. Beautiful story. Lovely characters. If only the 1980s prog rock soundtrack by Alan Parsons wasn't so very very synthetic and dated...
OK, so now I know I'm getting old. I used to watch this for Matthew Broderick, who is so very very young in it. He was only 23 after all, and Rutger Hauer was 41 and wonderfully totally appropriate as the cursed Navarre.
But John Wood, the Bishop of Aquila, was 55 and just starting to show his age. Nothing like as young and gorgeous as he was a few short years earlier in "Wargames", also with Matthew Broderick.
So I'm watching it for Rutger like I watch "Wargames" for John Wood and I watch "Inspector Gadget" for the older, more mature Matthew Broderick.
