"Low-key cabinet suitable for sophisticated locations..."

Sydney Opera House? The State Theatre?? The Marble Bar???

More like the milk bar, the bowling alley & the pinball arcade... 25c per play too could be a problem ~ Australian currency gives no quarter.

NZ (and presumably Aussie) 10c pieces used to substitute quite nicely for quarters... I didn't try it the last time I was over, but they worked 8 years ago. Very handy for waiting around in airport transit areas.

Hilarious. "Realistic sounds of ball bouncing" - not in any ping-pong game I've ever experienced!

There's a groovy cafe in Wellington that has a couple of Space Invaders consoles as tables - they work too. :-)

If you're ever up this way again, I guess we'll have to spend a few days over in NH and take you to Funspot, home of the American Classic Arcade Museum.

I got to play the actual Pong machine at a local amusement park when I was a kid. It was outdoors though, so the weather probably ate it up inside.

Space Invaders was the first video game to ever get me hooked. That was really intense for a 1970's game. My dad always preferred pinball. :)
